Hornsby Junior Rugby Union Club

A beautiful sunny day Sat 24/07/10 saw our boys take on Drummoyne at our home, Waitara Oval.  The 9.20 kick-off was followed by a Hornsby U8’s typically attacking game.  Daffyd scoring a try early on showed the boys intentions.  Mathew Croker and Ricki Weaver helped keep Drummoyne pinned back with excellent tackling.  Ben Montgomery and Hugh Rose passing kept everyone on their toes.  Captain Robin Daly enjoyed himself ripping every ball he could get his hands on.  Thursdays training is certainly paying off!  Well done Kieran and Simon.

The rucks and mauls were an opportunity for all players to get involved and special mention in this should go to Harry Stringer and Josh Patteson for their brilliant efforts.  The tackling of Charley Cullen and Reilly Witham is textbook and to be applauded.  Naasson Hill and Jackson Thompson were busy all over the pitch and making their presence felt.  Although Ben was injured, it was not to deter him; he was back on again after a short break.  This is the stuff of Hornsby Lions.

Daniel Gabb and Hunter Bird went over the goal line successfully twice after great team support.  Well done team!
