We all know that the U6s have number of future Wallabies in their ranks... . You may know that they have a future Wallaby coach in their ranks... . What you may not know is that 80,000 people will get to see Australian Rugby's best kept secret with the U6s selected to play in the curtain raiser for the Wallabies vs. All Blacks Test Match on September 11.
One of our parents – (Tei Akaveka) – prepared a submission to the ARU outlining why our Hornsby U6s would be deserving of this honour. I can honestly say that I don't know what was actually submitted, but it must have been good as it resulted in our club's youngest team being selected to perform on what is the biggest night on the Australian Rugby calendar.
As part of the event, the team will be involved in a minis display with an U6 team from Bathurst. The team then gets to sit on the dead ball line and watch the 'big boys' warm up. After that, we will retire on one of our complimentary 20 seats.
Well done Tei and Good Luck U6s!
