Congratulations to the Steve Frost and the Under 11’s who won the Plate Premiership with a win over Mosman 47: Nil.

But the win was tempered with the sad news of the passing away of  5 year old Chloe , sister of Mitch Robertson from the Under 11’s,  in a tragic accident last week.

We as a Club express our heartfelt sympathy to Glen & Kelly and Mitch and to all those within the Club who have lost family members over the last year and I ask that you join with me as a community in remembering them in our thoughts and in our prayers.

Geoff Kirkby, Club President

Participation & Fun ... from 6 to 60

PARTICIPATION and FUN are the cornerstones of the Club Philosophy. In summary, every child will receive equal time on the paddock, regardless of age, weight, height, ability or shoe size. In order for the Club to fulfil its goals, it is essential that we provide a family oriented environment where mothers, brothers, sisters, grandparents and any other family member or friend are genuinely welcomed.

At Hornsby you can spend your entire rugby career at the one club, not having to change as you move from Juniors to Seniors. A major benefit of the close link with our seniors is that coaches and assistant coaches are often drawn from their ranks. The Seniors have an important role as mentors to the junior players as they come through the ranks.

Sally Loane, ex-2BL morning announcer and one of our two patrons says of rugby:

"I love rugby because I believe it fosters all the things which are excellent for boys and men throughout their lives - team work; physical and mental discipline; respect for all sorts of body shapes and sizes; respect for coaches and referees; and of course, the sheer enjoyment of playing a game that requires a deal of technical mastery and understanding. I also think rugby provides some wonderful role models - and it's a true family game..."

Our other patron, by the way, is local Berowa boy, Western Force and Wallaby, Matt Dunning.
