4TH GRADE REPORT

LINDFIELD 28 – HORNSBY 0

Despite going down 4 tries to nil, this was not a bad effort 
against the second placed team. As is often the case with 4th 
grade, we had several last minute changes to the side but 
nonetheless the guys aimed up well against a solid and 
determined Lindfield team.  We spent several long periods of 
time camped in the Lindfield 22, but were just unable to get 
points on the board. A couple of Lindfield’s tries were 
against the run of play and the final score was not 
indicative of how close the game was.


Well done to Sosaia Akaveka who played his 100th game today. 
He had a very good game as did all of the boys. Points today 
went to ‘Redfield the Colt’ (3), Dave Morando (2) and Thibu 
(1). Thanks to Mark Jones for Captaining the side in Wiggsi’s 
absence, as usual, Mark’s kicking game was superb. 


4th grade has finished the year in 6th place, with 7 wins 
and 2 draws, so I guess that’s not a bad result really.  
Congratulations to the four 4th graders who hit the 100 games 
mark this year – Tony, Ant, Rob and Sao – well done guys – 
4 in a year from the one team – is that a record?


This was the last outing for 4’s for the year – and my last 
as 4th grade coach. I would like to thank the boys for their 
support throughout the year, for being pretty well represented 
at training most weeks, and for backing up most weeks for other 
grades. And most all of 4’s played multiple games each week – 
a good effort guys! 

 

Thanks for the season guys and the club hopes to see you all 
back for an even more successful year in 2010.
