**************************** 4TH GRADE REPORT **************************** Submitted by Ian Crothers Hornsby 35 - Oatley 12 Our best effort this year! We took the field after some inspirational words in the sheds from Marksie, Seg and Rob Mooney and the boys were as fired up as they have been all year. Everyone wanted to do well on 'Back to Hornsby Day' and that goal was well and truely achieved. What made the performance even more remarkable was that we played for slightly more than a full half with ony 14 men after Seg managed to get himself sent off just before half time. We opened our account with a great backline move finished off by a try under the posts to Trent Withers. This was followed by a good forwards try to Anthony Wourtez and we went to the break with only 14 men, but ahead 14 nil on the scoreboard. At half time, as coach, I was very concerned about our ability to hold onto the 2 try lead with only 14 players, but I needn't have worried. We won the second half 3 tries to 2 and the final score was 35 - 12 - with Simon Riddett kicking 5 from 5 conversions! (It would have been 35 - 5 had I not come on to share in the glory with 5 mins to go only to miss a tackle - sorry about that chaps!) A fantastic effort guys. I should also point out, we had 12 x 4th graders at training on Thursday and we were able to have a really good team run. Is there a connection perhaps between how we train and the result on the field?? Points this week were: 3 points to Anthony Wourtez - what a hugh work load! 2 Points to Wayde Smith who played a fantastic game on the wing 1 Point to Mark Jones - as solid as ever at Fly Half.
